6-week Improv Class
Mondays, May 18 to June 22 • 7:00 to 9:00 pm
This six-week class will provide a space to practice creating spontaneous vocal music in a vibrant and supportive group of singers. The approach to the class will be somewhat improvisational, but here are some topics we’ll cover:

Sources of inspiration (language, images, movement)

Basic vocal technique

Rhythm and counting exercises

Working with odd meters

Using words and language

Singing over changes
Class fee: $120
Discounts available: Yes, take this class for $100 if you register by April 30.

Location: Classes will be held at a private residence (mine) in South Mpls unless otherwise noted.

Voice Lessons
A number of you have asked me about voice lessons. YES! I'm accepting new students (and would love for you to be one of them!)
My approach is pretty organic; we sit down and figure out where you want your singing and voice training to go and work from there. I can help you sing better. For example:

Maybe you want to improve your voice by developing nicer tone and better control?

Maybe you want help with song interpetation?

Maybe, you want to learn to improvise.

Maybe someone told you couldn't (or shouldn't sing)?
Together, we work to improve your voice. You decide what you want to work on and I help you make it happen.
I teach out of my home in South Mpls. (I have a cat so if you have allergies, we can make other arrangements. Hard to sing if you can’t stop sneezing! *smile*)
I offer 30- and 50-minute lessons, starting at just $25. Lesson recordings are included in the cost of lessons.

Songtaneous Jam Sessions
Way more low-key and organic than a class or individual instruction. In fact, Songtaneous is so low-key, it's hard for me to think about it as teaching -- we just have lots of fun! (And if you happen to learn something ... well ... all the better!)
We sing in a group as we work on being spontaneous. The next Songtaneous session is Saturday May 2, from to 2 to 4pm. We'll celebrate three years of Songtaneous!
